The Medicean Villa di Artimino, also called “La Ferdinanda” or “Villa dei cento Camini” (“Villa of the hundred chimneys”), is situated in the landscape of Artimino, part of the medieval town of Carmignano in province Prato. It now houses the Archaeological Museum of Artimino. It was built for the Grand Duke Ferdinand I de Medici. The villa was built in four years, from 1596 to 1600, and is the masterpiece of the maturity of the famous architect Bernardo Buontalenti.
